The British maritime security company Ambrey reported on Saturday that a security team aboard a bulk carrier exchanged gunfire with armed individuals on a small boat after it suspiciously approached the ship 700 nautical miles southeast of Salalah, Oman. Ambrey stated in a memo: "The boat approached to within 300 meters before retreating towards the ship it came from," adding that the crew and the ship are safe.
