A Jewish center in Montreal was attacked with a Molotov cocktail, an incident strongly condemned by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whose country has witnessed a rise in anti-Semitic acts since October 7. According to "AFP," the director general of the "Jewish Community Council," Shaul Emmanuel, stated that the center was attacked when “no one was inside, and the damages were minor," denouncing "repeated violent and hateful attacks." He explained that the Molotov cocktail shattered the glass of the front door and settled in the lobby of the center, resulting in a small section of its carpet catching fire. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the attack, saying in a post on "X": "I strongly condemn the attack on the building of the Jewish Community Council in Montreal." He added: "These ongoing anti-Semitic acts of violence are deplorable and unacceptable – they must stop immediately. We must all stand together against such vile and abhorrent acts." Earlier in November, two Jewish schools in Quebec City were targeted in shooting incidents, one of which was shot at twice, with no injuries reported, in addition to an earlier attack involving Molotov cocktails at a Jewish synagogue. Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante also condemned the attack on the Jewish center, stating in a post on "X" that "Montreal is a city of peace and inclusion. It should remain that way, and we will ensure it does."
