Attorney Fouad Al-Asmar, acting as the legal representative of "Chikaw" company, issued a statement regarding the incident that occurred in Doura last Thursday evening. He reported that "there was a minor collision between a car and a motorcycle in the parking lot adjacent to Chikaw company. The company's manager intervened to resolve the dispute that arose from the accident. Meanwhile, employees from the company's factory were leaving, including eight Syrians, who offered assistance to peacefully resolve the issue. However, the situation dramatically escalated as dozens of young men arrived at the scene, shouting and threatening the Syrian workers, who fled back into the factory and locked the doors without further confrontation or assault on anyone."
He added: "Unfortunately, the attacking youths broke down the metal door of the building and entered, damaging some of its parts. In response, Chikaw management quickly contacted the security forces and the Lebanese army, who kindly arrived and worked to control the situation. It is important to note and confirm that the army searched the Syrians and their location but found no weapons with them. They were then taken for investigation, and today they are in the custody of the judiciary, with four of them possessing official papers."
Chikaw company urged responsible media to "shed light on the truth of what happened and not to exaggerate the situation or delve into issues far from reality, affirming the commitment of the company’s management and employees to respect the law and all official institutions and agencies."
