The Russian Central Election Commission has officially registered President Vladimir Putin as a candidate in the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for March 15 to 17. Both supporters and opponents expect Putin to win another six-year term, and if he succeeds, his rule will be the longest in Russia since the 18th century. Among the potential candidates is anti-war candidate Boris Nadygin, who has until Wednesday to collect the required number of supporting signatures for their candidacy and election campaigns. Natalia Budarina, secretary of the Central Election Commission, indicated that "of the 60,000 signatures selected to support Putin, 0.15% were declared invalid, with a possibility of 5% being flawed."
