US Treasury Secretary: Israeli Restrictions in the West Bank Harm Both Sides

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen criticized Israel for withholding work permits and restricting Palestinian travel from the West Bank, stating that these actions harm both sides and threaten to escalate into a broader regional conflict. In an interview with Reuters late Thursday, she said, "We do not want to see the conflict extend to other areas. Israel is a friend, and we talk to them regularly. If we see something that concerns us, we communicate our views to our partners."
