Sweden Expects Hungary to Soon Approve Its NATO Membership

Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström stated today, Wednesday, that he expects Hungary to soon approve Sweden's NATO membership application. In a speech to Parliament, he said, "We welcome Turkey completing the ratification process, and we expect Hungary to follow suit soon." Hungary is the only NATO member that has not yet approved Sweden's application to join the alliance, with the ruling nationalists in the country attributing this to what they describe as Sweden's unfounded claims that they are undermining democracy in Hungary.
