Manchester United announced on its official website today, Monday, the transfer of its Dutch player, Donny van de Beek, to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan until the end of the current season. Manchester United stated in a post on their social media account: "We wish all the best to our Dutch player @Donny_Beek6. Donny will join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season."
While the details of the loan deal were not disclosed by Manchester United, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported through his social media account that Frankfurt will pay a low fee for the loan but will cover the majority of the Dutch player’s wages. Romano added, "The loan contract includes an option to buy for €11 million, plus €3 million in add-ons."
Markus Krösche, the sporting director of Eintracht Frankfurt, said, "Van de Beek fits our style of play perfectly, and he is an important addition that our team needs." He continued, "Van de Beek has immense international experience that will benefit our young players. He has an incredible ability to score goals, and above all, he has the capacity to put our forwards in promising positions on the pitch."
Donny van de Beek, 26, has participated in only two matches with Manchester United this season and has played 62 matches in various competitions since joining the club in 2020 from Ajax Amsterdam, scoring only two goals for the Red Devils.
