Bad Luck Follows Salah in Europe and Africa

The Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has only known bad luck in the Africa Cup of Nations. After winning all possible titles with his English club Liverpool, the team's top scorer has not found success with his national team in the biggest tournaments on the African continent. Egypt was eliminated from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Côte d'Ivoire on Sunday in the round of 16 after losing on penalties to the Democratic Republic of Congo, marking yet another departure for Salah without lifting the trophy, as he had previously exited the tournament due to injury in the second match against Ghana. Salah left the pitch injured before the end of the first half of the Ghana vs. Egypt match, leading to an agreement between him, the Egyptian Football Association, and Liverpool for him to return to England for intensive rehabilitation, with plans to rejoin the "Pharaohs" for the semi-finals; however, the early exit against the Democratic Republic of Congo prevented this from happening.
