Danish company "Maersk" announced today, Friday, that it has temporarily suspended bookings to Djibouti from Asia, the Middle East, Oceania, and East and Southern Africa, as part of its shipping service known as Blue Nile Express. Maersk stated in a statement: "The situation in the Red Sea/Gulf of Aden and surrounding areas remains unstable, and all available intelligence information confirms that security risks remain at a very high level." Maersk mentioned that its Blue Nile Express service will immediately remove Djibouti, Jeddah, and King Abdullah Port in Saudi Arabia from its routes. The Blue Nile Express service typically connects ports in the UAE, Oman, India, Djibouti, and Saudi Arabia.
