Mother of Israeli Prisoner Shot Dead by Army: Don't Hesitate to Open Fire

The mother of a young man in his twenties who was shot by the Israeli army in northern Gaza on December 15th affirmed that she does not blame the soldiers of the 17th Battalion in the "Beslamach" Brigade for his death. In a message broadcasted on Israeli television channels, she stated: "I know that everything that happened is not your fault at all, but rather the fault of Hamas." She also called for the elimination of "the movement's memory from the face of the earth," as reported by the "Times of Israel."

Speaking to the Israeli soldiers operating in the besieged Gaza Strip, she said: "I want you to take care of yourselves and to understand that you are doing the best work in the world." It is noted that some local residents held the Israeli government and army jointly responsible, firstly for allowing the October 7 attack, which resulted in hundreds of Israelis being taken hostage by Hamas, and secondly for the shooting of the three prisoners.

It is mentioned that the three young men had exited a building in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood of Gaza with their torsos bare, and one was carrying a stick with a white cloth on it, but Israeli forces opened fire on them. The Israeli army later acknowledged the incident, expressed regret, and confirmed that it would open a transparent investigation.
