Wall Street Opens Lower

Major indexes on Wall Street fell at the open today, Friday, as investors awaited comments from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell that could provide clues on the central bank's interest rate path. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by 36.44 points, or 0.10 percent, to 35,914.45 points at the open. The S&P 500 opened down 8.37 points, or 0.18 percent, to 4,559.43 points. The Nasdaq Composite declined by 44.86 points, or 0.32 percent, to 14,181.35 points at the open.
