Title: Houthis: Execution of 13 People Accused of Homosexuality

A court affiliated with the Houthi movement in Yemen has sentenced 13 people to death on charges of homosexuality. The Houthis, who control the most populous areas of Yemen, do not carry out all death sentences issued by their courts. A report released in 2022 by the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor based in Geneva stated that the Houthis have sentenced 350 people to death since taking control of the capital, Sanaa, in 2014, yet they have only executed 11 of them.
