Russia launched a wide-ranging aerial attack throughout the night on Ukraine, targeting the capital and cities from east to west. The Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff stated, "Preliminary information indicates that our air defense systems shot down 32 out of 35 Iranian-made Shahed drones launched by Russia." Meanwhile, Kyiv military administration chief Serhiy Popko mentioned on Telegram that "the air forces identified about 20 enemy targets and destroyed them in the airspace around Kyiv."
The military administration in Lviv, a city inhabited by around 700,000 people and located 70 kilometers from the Polish border, noted that "Russia struck critical infrastructure in the city, resulting in a fire." Initial reports indicated no injuries. Head of the military administration for the Zaporizhzhia region in southeastern Ukraine, Yuriy Malashko, stated on Telegram that "the Russian raid targeted communications and agricultural infrastructure." There were no reports of casualties in Zaporizhzhia.
The high military command reported, "Russia launched seven missiles in the attack on Zaporizhzhia, according to preliminary reports." In turn, the Russian Defense Ministry stated today that its forces targeted and destroyed eight ammunition depots across Ukraine in the past twenty-four hours and repelled Ukrainian attacks in three different directions. Russian media reported the ministry's daily statement, which said, "Ukrainian forces attempted to launch attacks towards the Donetsk region and its south, as well as the Zaporizhzhia region in southern Ukraine."
