The movement at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut increased during September, with the number of passengers rising by 20% compared to September 2022. The month concluded with a total of 779,456 passengers, bringing the total passenger count from the beginning of the year until the end of September 2023 to 5,804,503 passengers, compared to 4,838,182 passengers during the same period last year, marking an increase of nearly 20%.
Passenger movement in September 2023 was as follows:
- The number of arrivals in Lebanon increased by 23%, reaching 342,824 passengers.
- The number of departures also rose by 18%, totaling 435,890 passengers.
- However, the number of transit passengers decreased by 8.73%, registering 742 passengers.
This resulted in a total of 779,456 passengers using the airport in September (an increase of 20.11%).
Flight operations: The total number of flights operated by national, Arab, and foreign airlines during September increased by 18.31%, reaching 6,007 flights. Of these, 3,005 were arrivals to Lebanon (an increase of 18.44%), while the number of departing flights from Lebanon rose by 18.18%, totaling 3,002 flights.
