Four players initially called up by coach Roberto Martinez have been removed from the Portuguese national team for the European qualifiers against Liechtenstein tomorrow, Thursday, and Iceland three days later. Pepe, Rafael Leão, and Nélson Semedo were excluded due to injuries, while Diogo Dalot was left out because his wife is about to give birth. Martinez called up left-back Raphael Guerreiro to replace Semedo and João Mário instead of Dalot, but did not summon anyone to replace Leão and Pepe. Martinez's squad includes forwards João Félix and star Cristiano Ronaldo. Portugal has won all eight of its matches in qualifying within Group 10 and has already secured a place in the Euro Championship scheduled to take place in Germany in the summer of 2024.
