Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian welcomed the normalization and development of relations with Egypt and Morocco, expressing concern over the crisis and the outbreak of civil war in Sudan. This came during Abdullahian's speech while hosting ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions from Islamic countries accredited in Tehran, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
Abdullahian explained that a priority of President Raisi's foreign policy is to give special attention to relations with the Islamic world and countries in the region. He added, "We are pleased that in recent months, we have managed to restore relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia to a normal state through diplomacy and negotiation."
He viewed the events of recent years in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria as part of a scheme by "enemies of the Islamic nation and Islamic countries." He affirmed that the Palestinian cause remains the main issue and priority for the Islamic world.
Abdullahian referred to a meeting he had with his Saudi counterpart in Tehran, where they agreed that "the Islamic world must consider the Palestinian issue its central issue and be aware and vigilant against the actions of the Zionist apartheid entity and prevent the weakening of Palestine. We, along with Saudi Arabia and other Islamic countries that play a role in the region and the world, must continue to support the oppressed Palestinian people and uphold their rights with a stronger and clearer voice."
The head of the diplomatic apparatus confirmed that they will not allow either the West or the East to control the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian people, stating, "However, we will have relations with both the East and the West in a direction of interests, cooperation, and interaction," welcoming the development of relations with both parts of the world.
