Management of the Cable Car Assures: We Will Resume Operations Soon

The management of the cable car reiterated today, Tuesday, its apologies to "all the esteemed passengers who were unavoidably stranded in the cabins for several hours, due to the activation of control and safety systems which immediately halted the operation of the cabins on the line, prioritizing their safety and avoiding any other risks. They were gradually extracted from the cabins safely using the best 'globally mandated means' for similar situations. This was indeed the case – we thank God – with the support of the civil defense teams, the Lebanese army, and the presence of the Lebanese Red Cross."

In a statement, it expressed gratitude and appreciation for the valuable efforts made by these three agencies, as all demonstrated their expertise, readiness, and competence in the operations to safely extract passengers from the cabins until they reached land in the best conditions and in the shortest possible time.

It also thanked the media for their coverage, which followed the developments of the operations and clarified the true picture to their esteemed audience, regarding the company meeting all the legal conditions required for its operation and/or regarding its possession of the necessary local and foreign technical resources and expertise to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of its project over the past 58 years, in line with the prevailing international norms in this field.

Additionally, it reassured everyone that the cable car will return to operation after taking the necessary measures to repair the forced malfunction that occurred, of course under the supervision of both international and local specialized technicians – hopefully as soon as possible – to regain its rightful place on the map of religious tourism and as a natural gateway to the Lady of Harissa shrine.
