French police reported that three people were injured in a stabbing attack early Saturday at the Gare de Lyon train station in Paris. They added that the suspected attacker has been arrested. According to the police, two individuals sustained minor injuries, while the third was seriously injured but is not in danger of death. The motives of the suspect remain unclear. France has faced a series of attacks carried out by Islamist extremists over the past decade, as well as occasional incidents perpetrated by individuals with mental disorders. Le Figaro reported, citing an unnamed police source, that the assailant in Saturday's attack is from Mali and holds an Italian driver's license. This report has yet to be verified.
