Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Thursday that "Iran and Pakistan do not want to escalate tensions in the region." In a press conference in Jordan, Fidan said that Turkey has advised both parties not to escalate further and emphasized the need to restore calm as soon as possible.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi also noted that "Israel must allow displaced people in Gaza to return to their homes." He stressed the importance of ending "the aggression on Gaza, the disastrous consequences of which are spreading throughout the region."
Regarding current priorities, Safadi mentioned that they include "stopping this massacre in Gaza, halting destruction, stopping escalation in the region, and enabling humanitarian aid... as well as immediately working for the return of the displaced people in Gaza to their areas and homes from which they have fled."
He continued, stating that after that, their efforts would focus on ensuring that any approach is aimed at the goal of ending the occupation and realizing a Palestinian state through a clear action plan that leads to a just and comprehensive peace, which is the only way to resolve the conflict.
The Israeli military operation that began following the attack by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on southern Israel on October 7 has led to the displacement of most of Gaza's population, which numbers 2.3 million.
