Chinese company "Sensetime" revealed a large array of new artificial intelligence products today, including a chatbot and image generation technology, joining the global race ignited by OpenAI's "Chat GPT." The CEO and co-founder of the company, Xu Li, demonstrated the chatbot they named "Sens Chat," which wrote an email and narrated a story about a cat catching a fish in response to questions. Co-founder Wang Xiaokang stated that "the products are based on the latest version of the Sens Nova model that the company has developed over the past five years. Large models are typically trained on vast datasets using powerful hardware."
Global interest in artificial intelligence technology has surged since the emergence of "Chat GPT" in late 2022, a popular chatbot developed by American company OpenAI that employs generative AI to create new texts, images, or codes based on prior data. Some governments are examining the characteristics of artificial intelligence, including its privacy risks and potential copyright infringements. The company, which is subject to U.S. sanctions, did not provide detailed plans regarding the launch of its products. In addition to Sens Chat, the company also showcased image generation technology, a digital platform for creating avatar models, and a pair of complementary 3D modeling tools.
