U.S. National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby announced that President Joe Biden will host Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the White House on April 10. Kirby stated to reporters aboard Air Force One en route to Wisconsin on Thursday, "I am pleased to announce today that President Biden and the First Lady will welcome Prime Minister Kishida and his wife as part of their official visit on April 10." He added that the meeting of the two leaders emphasizes "the importance of the alliance with Japan and bilateral relations as well as joint work as a whole, not only to enhance bilateral cooperation but also cooperation with other partners in the Indo-Pacific region."
