Ayatollah Ali Fadlallah emphasized that "it is regrettable to witness the global silence regarding all these crimes perpetrated by the enemy and the genocide occurring against the people of Gaza, which may lead to their complete displacement from their land. Indeed, we find in this world some who still turn a blind eye to the suffering of the Palestinian people; those who not only remain silent but also provide the green light for this enemy to escalate its criminal practices by supporting it with aircraft carriers, weapons, ammunition, and logistical support, as well as political, diplomatic, and media backing. There are even those who prevent statements condemning the crimes of the enemy."
He stated, "Lebanon cannot but stand with the Palestinian people in their struggle against this entity, as it sees it as a common enemy that has long caused suffering to the Lebanese people, who continue to endure it. We are witnessing this in these days through its attacks targeting peaceful villages along the border, under the pretext of retaliating against some factions of the Palestinian resistance."
He added, "While we call for readiness and preparation to confront this enemy, we warn against succumbing to the psychological warfare waged by the enemy, which aims to instill fear in the hearts of the Lebanese and create a climate of tension among them, a narrative that the media contributes to. At the same time, we must trust in the wisdom of the resistance even in its responses to the attacks it has faced or those targeting the border regions, and in all the strengths Lebanon possesses, which lead the Zionist enemy to think twice before embarking on any adventure or aggression against this country."
He concluded, "We emphasize to everyone in Lebanon the importance of working for internal unity and demonstrating to the enemy that they are a united front against it, even if they disagree on internal issues. This is not the time to throw accusations or address internal or external matters from one side or another; rather, it is a time to shelter under the roof of national unity, which has always been able to protect Lebanon and thwart the enemy's objectives. This calls for expediting efforts to fill the presidential vacancy to fortify this country from within against the challenges it faces, both domestically and in light of ongoing events in Palestine, which can only be achieved through dialogue and cooperation among all forces."
