Several social media users have circulated images of leaflets dropped by the Israeli army using aircraft over the towns of Beit Amin and Sennaria, southeast of Qalqilya in the West Bank. The dropped leaflets call on those in the Jabalia area of the Gaza Strip to evacuate, which sparked widespread ridicule across various social media platforms. The text of the leaflets reads: "Urgent Warning, to those in the Jabalia, Daraj, Tuffah, and Old Town areas. The area you are in is considered a combat zone."
The army also urged residents of areas in the Gaza Strip to evacuate, stating: "For your safety, the Defense Army urges you to evacuate immediately and head to the known shelters near you." It added: "If you have any valuable information regarding the captives, please inform us by any means."
For its part, the newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported on Thursday that residents of the settlements of Rosh Ha'Ayin and Sha'ar Shomron were surprised by the falling leaflets from the IDF, discovering that they were directed toward Gaza. In contrast, Israeli army spokesperson Avichai Adrai stated that due to a technical error, the flyers did not reach their original destination in northern Gaza, noting that an investigation into the incident has been opened, according to the Hebrew newspaper. The Israeli army typically resorts to dropping leaflets on Gaza to instruct residents to evacuate from areas that will be the site of military operations and to move to "safe" areas, according to its claims.
