"I Am Lebanese"... The Launch of the Jounieh International Festivals with Abir Nehme

Despite the economic and financial crisis sweeping Lebanon, the Lebanese refuse to let summer pass without hosting celebrations and festivals in various regions, from the coast to the mountains. Among these is the Jounieh International Festivals, which kicked off its 11th edition under the title "I Am Lebanese" yesterday, Wednesday, with an evening titled "What Could Be More Beautiful," hosted by the ambassador of musical dialogue, the globally renowned Lebanese artist Abir Nehme. She performed on major international stages, taking the audience on a magical journey with a curated selection of memorable songs that ignited an enthusiastic response from the crowd, who began to chant loudly, "I am Lebanese. And this is I Am Lebanese." Abir Nehme's appearance was styled by Lebanese designer Ziad Nakad.

The festival is set to host an evening of national emotion titled "Lebanon, a Tale of Love" on Sunday, July 30, at 8:30 PM, under the supervision of poet Nizar Frances, featuring singer Carla Shamoun, who will reflect on the love of the homeland.

Additionally, the festival will serve as an opportunity to showcase local talents and the diverse culture that distinguishes Lebanon. A national photography competition for amateurs and professionals will be launched, aimed at highlighting the beauty of Lebanon’s nature and culture. Each participant will have the chance to present their unique perspective through creative professional photography to showcase Lebanon's cultural, touristic, and civilizational aspects.

The competition will be overseen by a jury composed of specialists who will select the most beautiful photographs, and the public will participate in voting through the competition website. The final results will be announced during a special ceremony at Casino Lebanon on Tuesday, August 22.

The festival's activities will continue until December, with performances held in the Ambassadors Hall at Casino Lebanon.
