A Drink to Prevent Cold Diseases and Ulcers

Dr. Sergey Agapkin revealed the medicinal properties of "hyssop," a plant that was discussed by the Greek physician Hippocrates and is currently used in medicine in many countries. "Hyssop" is known for increasing the body's resistance during the cold season and against acute viral respiratory infections, as well as facilitating the breathing process for those who are already sick. Additionally, an infusion of the plant is used for gargling to treat a sore throat. These are not all the beneficial properties of this beautiful flowering plant. According to Dr. Agapkin, "hyssop" is used in the prevention of stomach ulcers because its antibacterial compounds inhibit the activity of Helicobacter pylori, which frequently causes ulcers. Furthermore, the essential oil from "hyssop" can be used to humidify the air in homes and to prevent infections. Additionally, a drink can be made from "hyssop" and black tea, and if desired, a teaspoon of honey can be added to improve the taste. This drink helps in treating sore throats and serves as a means of preventing stomach ulcers.
