The Lebanese pound has topped the list of the worst-performing currencies this year, depreciating against the dollar by over 83%. It is followed by the Nigerian pound, which has declined nearly 42% since the beginning of 2024. According to Bloomberg data, the Egyptian pound ranks third among the worst-performing currencies this year, having depreciated by 38.3% against the dollar since the start of the current year. The Chilean peso comes in fourth place, recording a decline of 10.2% against the dollar, while the Turkish lira ranks fifth globally with a depreciation of 7% against the dollar.
