The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bouhabib, indicated during his meeting with the German Ambassador to Lebanon, George Schtoockl-Stilfried, that "we rely on Germany’s friendly role in stopping the escalation and preventing the extension of the conflict." Bouhabib affirmed during his reception of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Lebanon, Joanna Fronczak, that "the solution can only be political and diplomatic through the full implementation of Resolution 1701, which includes the withdrawal of Israel from all occupied Lebanese territories and the cessation of ground, sea, and air violations."
