Foiled Child Kidnapping Operation in Iraq

The Federal Police Command in Iraq announced today, Friday, the foiling of a child kidnapping operation and the arrest of the kidnapper in Baghdad. A statement from the command stated, "The security deployment and continuous monitoring of police units within the area of responsibility resulted in the foiling of a child kidnapping operation and the arrest of the kidnapper." The statement added that "the fifth brigade's units north of the capital Baghdad were able, in cooperation with the security authorities working in the area of responsibility and as a result of swift action, to surround the area and pursue the suspect, leading to his arrest and the rescue of the kidnapped child. The suspect has been duly referred to the competent authorities to face justice."
