Under the patronage of the Commander of the Lebanese Army, General Joseph Aoun, the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation is organizing two major international events in September at the "Nihad Naffal Complex" (Zouk Mikayel). The first event is the Asian Championship for ages 15-17 and 12-14 for both males and females, as well as a "Para" competition, taking place from September 2 to 10, under the supervision of the Asian Taekwondo Union. The second event is the fifth annual Beirut Open (ranked "G1"), scheduled for September 11, 12, and 13, under the auspices of the International Taekwondo Federation.
The Federation will hold a press conference at 6 PM on Wednesday, August 30, at the "Le Royal" Hotel (Dbayeh), to officially announce the two major international events. The Lebanese Taekwondo Federation has invited journalists and media personnel, along with the Federation's family, to attend the press conference.
In this context, 38 countries from Asia, America, Africa, and Europe have announced their participation in the competitions. These countries include Cambodia, Taiwan, India, Iraq, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Macau, Mongolia, Palestine, China, the Philippines, Qatar, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Pakistan, Brazil, Morocco, Peru, Turkey, Ivory Coast, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Greece, Somalia, and Spain.
The official opening ceremony of the championship will take place at 5 PM on Sunday, September 3, at the Nihad Naffal Complex (Zouk Mikayel).
