Hamas leader Bassem Naim commented on the video released by the Israeli army regarding the presence of a command center for Hamas in a basement under Shifa Hospital, stating: "How can we place computers and a command center near MRI machines? The evidence presented by the Israeli army is undoubtedly ridiculous and worthless; it is merely a play to cover up its failure to find real evidence." He continued: "They are now in control of the hospital; why do they need days to understand what is inside the hospital when searching the place should take no more than hours? The long delay is surely for presenting a new show." He added: "Netanyahu is delaying the prisoner deal and extending the deadline while destroying the infrastructure in Gaza, yet so far he has not found any evidence or target that would contribute to a near escalation on the Israeli street."
For its part, the health ministry affiliated with Hamas confirmed that the Israeli army "has not found any equipment or weapons" in Shifa Hospital in Gaza, which they raided on Wednesday, clarifying that they "do not allow" the presence of weapons in their hospitals. They stated in a press release, "The Zionist occupation's claim of finding weapons in the Shifa medical complex is merely a continuation of lies and cheap propaganda, through which they attempt to justify their crime of destroying the healthcare sector in Gaza."
