The Minister of Economy in the caretaker government, Amin Salam, announced that he "brings with him a message to the State of Qatar regarding the possibility of discussing support for the reconstruction of the silos in Beirut, Tripoli, and the south." He added that "the quantities of flour and wheat for bread production continue fully without any delay, and funding is available until next year."
After meeting with the Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri at the second presidential headquarters in Ain al-Tineh, he noted that "today's visit is to inform him of the results of our visit to the State of Qatar and our participation in the opening of the Lebanese pavilion at the 'Expo Qatar.' Additionally, we informed him about the upcoming visit we will be making with a ministerial and economic delegation to Qatar to meet with several ministers and investment and private sector bodies, and we told him about the importance of this visit in light of the difficult circumstances we are going through, as it offers a window of hope."
Salam continued: "We also updated Berri on the issue of food security, which we are all directly concerned about, especially regarding the availability of flour and wheat for bread production, which continues fully without any delay, and funding is available until next year, God willing."
Berri also received Minister of Education and Higher Education Abbas Halabi and Minister of Information Ziad Makari, where they reviewed the political and field developments in light of the escalation of the "Israeli aggression" on the Gaza Strip and the Lebanese border villages with "occupied Palestine," as well as media affairs.
