General Assembly of Taekwondo Approves Administrative and Financial Statements Unanimously

The annual ordinary general assembly of the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation approved the administrative and financial statements unanimously during a meeting held at the "Le Royal" hotel in Dbayeh. The meeting was attended by the federation president, Dr. Habib Zarifa, members of the administrative committee, and representatives of the clubs. The Secretary-General of the federation, Mark Harb, announced that the legal quorum was met with the presence of representatives from 39 out of 57 clubs entitled to vote (requiring a simple majority).

Dr. Zarifa gave a speech welcoming attendees to the annual ordinary general assembly, stating, "2022 was a remarkable year for the sport of taekwondo despite the challenging circumstances we live in. It is important for the taekwondo family to continue moving forward and shining with success, thanks to the ongoing communication between the federation family and the federation's administrative committee."

He continued, "We have many commitments this year both locally and internationally. Lebanon will host the Asian Championship and the Beirut Open Championship again in September, with the official opening featuring the South Korean performance team 'Kooky One,' which is one of the strongest performance teams in the world. We are in advanced negotiations with the relevant parties to open a 'Kooky One' office in Lebanon, making the land of the Cedars a communication hub in the region."

Following this, the Secretary-General of the federation, Mark Harb, presented the detailed administrative statement which was unanimously approved after discussion. The federation's treasurer, Omar El-Masri, presented the financial statement, providing exact figures in a comprehensive and clear manner, and it was also unanimously approved after discussion, thus absolving the administrative committee of the federation.

El-Masri announced that Dr. Zarifa decided to deduct $25,000 from the debt owed to him by the federation, which amounts to approximately $122,000. The expected budget for the federation for the year 2023 was also approved.
