A two-year-old girl lost her life on Friday after being attacked by stray dogs near her family home in southeastern Sétif, Algeria. According to the victim's father, Aziz Derfal, the tragedy occurred after he returned from Friday prayers, where he was shocked to hear from his neighbors that stray dogs had attacked his daughter and seriously injured her. She was taken to Ain Azal Hospital due to her fatal injuries.
The Algerian newspaper "Enahar" reported that when the father arrived at the hospital, doctors were waiting to inform him about his daughter's death. In deep sorrow over the loss of his daughter in such a horrific and painful manner, he stated that the stray dogs pounced on his daughter from the front door of the house while she was playing alone. The dogs dragged the infant towards a nearby wadi, which is where her small body was attacked. The victim's father explained that these stray dogs had previously confronted schoolchildren returning home in broad daylight.
