The UAE Rugby Federation announced today, Monday, the signing of a partnership agreement with Emirates Airlines, making it a primary sponsor for the national men's and women's rugby teams in both the XV and sevens categories, as well as for the Shaheen and Al Maha programs, for a period of three years renewable.
The federation stated in a press release: "Emirates Airlines will be the official airline for the national teams' missions, and the rugby federation takes pride in displaying the 'Fly Better' logo on the national team kits and both Shaheen and Al Maha teams until 2026."
Mohammed Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Rugby Federation, said: "The board appreciates the effort to see Emirates Airlines as a primary and renewing partner in the success journey of the Rugby Federation. We are happy with this partnership, which will continue the successes of UAE Rugby in providing the best and most distinguished aviation services for the Emirati rugby community."
He added: "We concluded a year full of national continental achievements. For example, the men's team secured first place in Asia in the first-level XV category, first place for the men's and women's under-18 sevens teams, first place in the Arab Men's Sevens Championship, and a silver medal for the women's team. Additionally, we ranked third in the Asian Rugby Sevens Series, which is the most competitive at the continental level, and the women's team qualified to compete at the first level in Asia."
