The Council of the European Union decided today, Friday, to impose sanctions on 33 individuals and two entities connected to the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. The EU stated in a press release that "the new list includes penal colonies where Navalny was imprisoned as well as senior officials in the Russian judicial system."
