The Renewal Bloc pointed out that "at a time when Lebanon needs to take all necessary measures to protect itself from the increasing danger of war, repeated attacks targeting the international peacekeeping forces operating in the south tasked with maintaining stability have occurred, suggesting that there is a decision by the forces of resistance to threaten the work of these forces and prevent them from carrying out their missions. This sends a message through UNIFIL to the international community that efforts to implement Resolution 1701 will be met with chaos and violence." The bloc condemned in a statement, "these practices that place Lebanon and the Lebanese in jeopardy," and reiterated its disdain for the government's silence, which seems to have settled for declaring impotence and a loss of the decision regarding peace and war, representing a shameful resignation from its responsibilities and duties towards the Lebanese people and the international community." The bloc emphasized "the necessity for all parties to adhere to Resolution 1701 and to return to its actual implementation to spare Lebanon the danger of war," asserting its "rejection of turning Lebanese people into fuel for Iran's regional influence project at the expense of their security, future, and economy."
