Earthquake of 6.9 Magnitude Strikes Papua New Guinea

A 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck northern Papua New Guinea on Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center stated that "there is no tsunami threat" due to the earthquake that occurred at 6:22 AM local time (8:22 PM GMT Saturday) at a depth of approximately 35 kilometers.
