Mikati Announces Official Mourning for the Death of the Emir of Kuwait

The Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, issued a memorandum declaring official mourning for the late Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The text of the memorandum states: "Official mourning is announced for the death of His Highness the Emir of the sister State of Kuwait, the late Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Flags at all governmental institutions and municipalities will be flown at half-mast in mourning for a period of three days, starting from this date until Monday, December 18, 2023, inclusive. Regular programming on radio and television stations will be adjusted to reflect this solemn occasion. May God grant the great deceased wide mercy and grant him a place in His vast paradise."
