Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated today, Thursday, that "the West's goal was to force developing countries to sign the 'peace formula' proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which is merely a product of a sick imagination." This came during an interview with the minister conducted by the "Novosti" agency and the channel "Russia-24," where Lavrov said: "Regardless of what is written in short sentences about food security and energy security, the main thing is (the return of Russia to the borders of 1991, the abandonment of Crimea, and Donbas)."
He added: "Ten days ago, in complete secrecy, another meeting was held regarding the 'peace formula' proposed by Zelensky with the participation of Western countries and several countries from the global south, and he commented that 'the West is already changing its tactics and perhaps considering clarifying its strategy because if (the strategic defeat of Russia) is the strategy, it has failed miserably.'"
The minister affirmed that "Russia is preparing to achieve all the objectives set for the Russian special military operation in Ukraine against the backdrop of changes in the Ukrainian direction."
