UEFA announced today, Friday, the exclusion of the Italian club "Juventus" from European club competitions for the upcoming season, after being suspended for breaching club licensing rules and financial fair play regulations. It stated in a press release that it would impose an additional financial contribution of 20 million euros on the club, adding that "of this amount, ten million euros will be conditional and will only be applied if his annual financial statements for the fiscal years 2023, 2024, and 2025 do not comply with accounting requirements." Juventus, which qualified for the UEFA Conference League playoffs after finishing seventh in the Italian league last season, stated that it "waived its right to appeal but maintains its innocence." Additionally, Juventus President Gianluca Ferrero confirmed his "conviction in the legality of the club's actions and the validity of our arguments, but we decided not to appeal the ruling." He added that "not appealing aligns with the club's policy, which was applied during a settlement with the Italian federation last May when they chose to pay a fine of 718,000 euros and accept a ten-point deduction from their total." The preliminary rounds of the Conference League for the 2023-2024 season began earlier this month. Chelsea also received a fine of ten million euros for submitting incomplete financial data.
