The European-Asian Association of Cardiac Surgeons has elected Dr. George Tadi as an advisor during its recent conference held in Belgrade, Serbia. Dr. Tadi studied general medicine at the University of Brussels, Belgium, and then specialized in cardiac surgery at universities in Paris. He worked in the team of the famous Professor Christian Cabrol, who performed the first heart transplant in Europe in 1968. Dr. Tadi was among the first to carry out heart transplants in Beirut. Upon his return to Lebanon, he chaired several cardiac surgery departments at various hospitals in Beirut. He, along with a group of colleagues, contributed to promoting the culture of organ donation and established the National Association for Organ and Kidney Donation, where he served as Secretary-General, which later became the National Association for Organ Donation.
