Netanyahu: No Ceasefire Until Hamas is Disarmed

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his condition for a ceasefire today, demanding the disarmament of the Hamas movement. In an interview with the Italian newspaper "La Stampa," Netanyahu stated, "Peace will only be possible through disarmament and eradicating extremism in the Gaza Strip." He emphasized the necessity of "eliminating Hamas, disarming Gaza, and the Palestinian community ceasing extremism," claiming these are "the three conditions for peace between Israel and the Palestinians in Gaza." He continued, stating that disarming Gaza involves establishing a temporary security zone along the Gaza Strip, including the border with Egypt, to prevent arms smuggling, considering that his country is "waging a large battle against barbarism."
