Gaza War Claims 53 Journalists and Media Workers

The Committee to Protect Journalists reported today, Tuesday, that 53 journalists and media workers have been killed in the war between Israel and Hamas. The New York-based organization stated that this toll includes 46 Palestinians, four Israelis, and three Lebanese who have died since the war began on October 7. The latest victims were two journalists from the Iranian-aligned Al Mayadeen channel, killed in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, according to state media. The committee noted that 11 journalists have been injured and three are missing since the start of the war, with 18 journalists arrested. The nonprofit organization added on its website: "Journalists in Gaza are facing significant risks while trying to cover the conflict during the Israeli ground assault, including destructive Israeli airstrikes, communication disruptions, supply shortages, and widespread power outages."
