Palestinian Presidency: Gaza Will Only Be Part of the Palestinian State

The official spokesman for the Palestinian presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, stated today, Friday, in response to Netanyahu's plan for the day after the war on Gaza, that "Gaza will only be part of the independent Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem." He added that "any plans other than that are destined to fail, and Israel will not succeed in its attempts to change the geographical and demographic realities in the Gaza Strip." Abu Rudeineh continued, saying, "If the world wants security and stability in the region, it must end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and recognize the independent Palestinian state with its capital in noble Jerusalem." He confirmed that "what Netanyahu is proposing is aimed at continuing Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories and preventing the establishment of a Palestinian state." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented his plan for the day after the war in Gaza to the war council yesterday, Thursday.
