Title: Sunak: No Plans for Parliamentary Vote on Strikes Against Houthi Targets

The spokesperson for British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak indicated that he "will make a statement in Parliament on Monday regarding the strikes carried out on Houthi military targets in Yemen but there are no plans to hold a vote to endorse the military action there." When asked if there would be a retrospective vote in Parliament on the strikes, Sunak's spokesperson said on Friday: "There are no plans for that. As we have said before, the deployment of armed forces is the prerogative of the (Prime Minister), and there is no legal obligation for the government to seek formal approval from Parliament for it." The spokesperson added that there are no plans to carry out further attacks against Houthi targets but noted that the country will keep security plans under review.
