The North Korean Central News Agency reported that the country's leader, Kim Jong Un, visited major military factories, including a facility for producing tactical missiles. The agency added that Kim expressed satisfaction with the factory's recent focus on producing tactical missiles and increasing production capacity. It stated that Kim called for "improving missile production" and personally operated an armored combat vehicle. This visit is the latest in a series of trips by the North Korean leader to military facilities, where he emphasizes the necessity for mass weapons production.
In regard to the typhoon damage, Kim Jong Un labeled local officials as "irresponsible" and "indifferent" for failing to prevent the damage caused by Typhoon "Khanun," which recently swept across the Korean Peninsula. According to the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim made these statements during a visit to the Anbyon village in Kangwon Province, where riverbanks collapsed and approximately 200 hectares of farmland were flooded due to the heavy rains brought by the typhoon last week. He noted that "the region suffered more severe damage compared to other areas affected by the typhoon," criticizing regional officials for being "indifferent" to state measures, and instructed officials to strengthen the government's response to natural disasters.
