The Israeli police revealed that settlers received personal text messages in recent hours containing the name of the citizen and threatening content, as shown in the attached image. The police did not disclose the source of these messages, stating, "The aim of these messages is to create a state of panic during the time of war." They urged settlers not to respond to or acknowledge these messages and to block the number from which the message was sent, according to a statement issued.
The message indicated that the Al-Qassam Brigades or supporting entities managed to hack into phones and send messages to settlers: "The curse of the eighth decade is coming to you, and it will affect you and your government through us... It is time to end you... Our Palestinian land will be free, and your bodies will be the bridge we cross to our freedom... The lie that your government pretends to win is merely a way to hide their defeat."
The curse is said to imply that "no Jewish state has survived past eighty years unscathed, and by the eighth decade or earlier, it faced the strongest two states in ancient Jewish history in Palestine, facing the danger of disintegration and collapse, namely the Kingdom of David and Solomon, and the Hasmonean Kingdom. This curse threatens the third kingdom, which is Israel."
Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, brought the "curse of the eighth decade" back to the forefront while referring to it after the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation, which shocked Israelis and was considered the largest single military operation targeting the Hebrew state since its establishment, resulting in the greatest human loss in a single day.
Abu Obeida stated that within Jewish traditions, there is a centuries-old Talmudic prophecy that is revered, warning of the curse of the eighth decade on the Jewish state.
