Hawaii: Wildfire Death Toll Decreases to 97

Hawaii's Governor Josh Green announced in an interview with CNN on Friday that "the death toll from the wildfires that swept through Maui last month has decreased to 97, while the number of missing people now stands at 31." He stated, "The number of fatalities has decreased because we have anthropologists at the Department of Defense capable of performing a lot of advanced genetics. They have been able to ensure that we have not mixed up any of the tragically lost individuals."
