Video: Russia Launches New Satellite into Space

The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday the successful launch of a new Russian military satellite into space. The statement issued by the service read: "The Aerospace Forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense launched a new satellite into Earth's orbits; the satellite was sent into space aboard a Soyuz-2.1b rocket, which was launched today from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome at 11:48 Moscow time." The "Zvezda" channel indicated that "the satellite was placed into its designated orbit, and control operations have begun from the ground centers of the Russian Ministry of Defense." It is noteworthy that "the Russian Ministry of Defense had launched another military satellite from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome on November 25 of last year, and the following day, the satellite was placed into its designated orbit, as well as other launches conducted from the mentioned site in early August and late October of this year."
