Bassil: Sister Maya Requests to Uphold the Teachings of Christ

The head of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gebran Bassil, stated that "regardless of any political disagreements, there are constants we do not deviate from: those who are martyred for Lebanon are martyrs for the homeland. Our martyrs in the South are Lebanese martyrs despite our opposition to the slogan 'Martyrs on the Way to Jerusalem.'" Bassil added in a post on the "X" platform that "when Sister Maya Zeina asks her students to pray for the South, for its men, women, children, and martyrs, she is merely applying the teachings of Christ. Sister Maya Zeina has all our respect and solidarity."
